Absolute Filth Hockey Wax is the brainchild of Minnesota hockey mom Katie Kirt and her husband Casey. The two entrepreneurs are no strangers to small, family-owned businesses; they met in 1989 when both worked for Casey’s family business. Today, they own several companies that use wax to create consumer products, including Absolute Filth. As a family-owned business, they understand the needs and values of their customers, just like they understand the needs of their own family. 

The idea for Absolute Filth Hockey Wax was born in the stands of different rinks. Katie, a supportive mom to her two hockey-playing kids, spent hours watching them skate and compete while building relationships with other parents. This community encouraged her and Casey to expand the scope of their Fast Wax product line to include stick wax. Loving a challenge, Katie and Casey wanted to give it a go, so they started developing the product and adding scents they thought players would like. 

Since launching Absolute Filth in 2019 and seeing the dynamic growth opportunity in the space, Katie and Casey have invested in equipment to increase production and improve efficiency while continuing to innovate in the scent space and expand their offerings. Absolute Filth is not only environmentally friendly but kid-friendly, too! Two-thirds of the wax they use is all-natural and is sourced locally. By choosing Absolute Filth, you are making a responsible choice for the environment. Katie and Casey are motivated by their strong bond with the hockey community. As hockey parents, they spent a lot of time at practices and tournaments, watching their kids excel in the sport.
